Hi,

I currently have a door that opens into a room, I want to replace this by installing a sliding door on the outside, so the door frame will need to be adjusted to accommodate this from the other side -- what's the best way of doing this?

Thanks

remove the door stop
install the sliding door
make/buy/attach pelmit over the door top
padd out the door frame to allow a brush/felt seal to give you a draught free door

I want to use the same door so my main concern is that the door won't sit flush within the frame in the same way, as I am trying to have it close on the other side.

Wouldn't I have to cut out and move the door jamb or something similar?

you would probably have to remove the architrave
you realy need to buy the track to see how the door will sit
i would have thought a new door would look better as it would be square

also dont see how the original door can give you a good seal without reducing the opening by around 2" [1" each side and 2 at the top
