I am decorating my house and i am changing the ceiling lights. but i had a big problem. when i took my light down i could see alot of wires!!! (live, neutral and earth) the problem is the live and the neutral is alive! (with electric!!!) my light has being running the just the live wire. why did it not blow the fuse( i have used it for 3 years).

It would blow a fuse if it was over loaded, for some reason all your wires are hooked up somewhere, you only need a hot and neutral to work the lights, the ground is for safety.

Welcome to the UK leorio - I hope you like it here.

FYI - we say "Live" (or more properly "Phase") instead of "Hot", and "Earth" instead of "Ground".....

Thanks.
