Hi, every time it rains we get water dripping into our fire place, no damp in the bedroom by the chimney just seems to be dripping down the flue into the fireplace. When its heavy rain its larger and more consistent drips than when its light rain.

We got hold a roofer that was recommend by a friend as we could see that the cement around the chimney crown needed to be sorted which he did and did spots of pointing as well. He also took a picture to show the flashing needed to be repaired and additional piece added, whihc he did and took the a picture to confirm.

It is still leaking, he said it must be the chimney pot, although it looks fine and its the same pot as the other houses around us and they have never had any problems with them. It is a gas fire and according to google it is the correct pot.

It is like the one in the picture.

Does anyone have another thoughts, could a new pot stop the leak or could it be anything else, I just can't afford to spec out more money again for the problem not to be solved?

Many thanks for your help.
