It seems we are over the love in with China.

I'm not sure this was a great move.

Me neither. I can't see what - given our limited status and influence on the world stage - benefits this would bring to us. China will be the next #1. As my late Grandfather said "beware of the Yellow Peril" (yes dated and non-PC).

Why not?

He is only stating what is glaringly obvious. It's just that we are in a much weaker position now to do anything about it. Like a big tanker at sea it will take years to alter course but you have to start sometime
