Chinese Consulate workers assault man in Manchester

That is true.
However we only saw a brief few seconds of footage, so we don't know what led to the punch up at the gates.
I am not defending either side because i don't know the whole story but i am increasingly suspicious of the way news is being presented by the mainstream media.
This is why i sometimes like to play devils advocate.
These days protesting is a full time job for some people. A few years ago i got a job doing security at an oil drilling test site.
We were employed to protect the site from environmentalist protesters who had set up camp at the front gates.
They treated the whole protest as a party, they would play music into the night and have barbecues, when a lorry or van would arrive at the site, the protesters would shout and blow whistles but they never got violent.
We got used to seeing different groups of what we called recreational protesters, they would come and go at all times of the day and night.
After about a week, a group arrived who weren't local, they had Southern Irish accents, the police told us that this group were full time professional protesters who were on a wage, it was then things began to change, the professionals as we called them started to organise the crowd to try an gain access to the site, when a lorry would arrive at the gate, the protesters would rush the gate to try and gain access once it opened.
Their aim was to get in and chain themselves to the drilling rig, at night they would try and cut through the security fence, we noticed that the professional protesters were inciting the crowd to become more aggressive, they would come up to the gates and start shouting abuse at us, the police told us that this was a common tactic by these type of protesters, they try to provoke an overreaction and then film it, the film is then edited to create a different impression of what really happened.
I think you will find the police were there all the time and would have stopped any illegal protesting.
Devils advocate is 1 thing, but just assuming the thugs (embassy staff) were in the right is stretching it. The government have summoned an important person for a chat with a cup of tea. They don't do that very often, so there must be something behind it.

The embassy was safely behind secure gates and the police have a duty to stop protesters entering. Like wise there is no legal right under any circumstances to drag a protester in for a beating. On camera too

"Unidentified men came out of the consulate and forced a man inside the compound before he escaped with the help of police and other demonstrators.
The protester told the BBC: "They dragged me inside, they beat me up."

Agree with you on this one. Yet more foreign immigrants bringing chaos and violence to British cities.

It might be better if the known racist poster ReganAndCarter checks his facts before blurting out his nonsense:
(1): Holders of diplomatic and special passports do not require a visa for official visits, tourist visits or transit.
(2.): Service and public affairs passport holders do not require a visa if travelling with a serving Chinese government minister on an official visit to the UK
(7): Holders of diplomatic passports do not require a visa for official visits, tourist visits or transit.

Evidently the Embassy man was not an immigrant.
But as usual the perverted bigoted ignore facts and exploit an issue to promote their racist ideology.

Lots of "whataboutery" here for some reason. This is not the same as any climate change protest or fox hunting protest, or any protest except perhaps the murder of Yvonne Fletcher in 84 outside the Libyan Embassy.

In this case, the Chinese Consul General and his thugs left the Consulate grounds (effectively left a bit of China) to beat up people on UK soil just because they were saying something they did not like. Further, they effectively abducted a person from UK soil, took them back to their own bit of China, to beat them up some more.

And if anyone can't see why that is fundamentally wrong, then they need to check themselves.

No-one is disagreeing that it was fundamentally wrong.
Maybe vinty, gant and transam but they're frequently trolling. The rest were agreeing it was so very wrong, and exploiting the diplomatic privilege.

In addition, the Consulate is UK territory. The Embassy maybe Chinese territory, but that does not apply to the Manchester Consulates. (accordig to BBC
The consulate is UK territory, but cannot be entered without consent.

The only other issue is that proposed by ReganAndCarter who usually exploits an incident to promote his racist ideology.

Edited for improved grammar.

Its lucky that this incident with the protester didn't occur outside the Saudi Arabian embassy, if it had, this protester would have ended up in a couple of diplomatic bags on the first flight back to Saudi.
