Christmas lights removing the control box

We had a set, which originally went in the front window, where it caught the eye, on an evening - very distracting, when it came on in the flashing mode, via a smart plug. We have now swapped that for a memory type, set in slow fade mode. The flashy set, has now been relegated, to use on a Christmas tree in the corner, where it's flashing mode is less distracting. Both come on, controlled via smart plugs.

I added a an extra chip to the circuit board on a set of lights that didn't have a memory.

Took a bit of farting about to find the right chip to order, then some very fiddly soldering, which I'm not great at. But managed it in the end and they work fine, now have a memory.
Not actually got round to putting up that set of lights this year!
