When I fitted my concealed cistern it was open to a dirty enviroment for some time. A black mould type substance formed at the waterline. Now I get the odd bit landing in the pan when flushed. What can I pour into it to kill/dissolve this stuff. I thought of bleach but was concerned about damaging rubber seals etc. It is now closed in and cant be replaced.

Thanks

I have always used bleach and an old toothbrush (watch your eyes!)
Make sure that any metal parts are flushed clean.

Any residual bleach will soon get washed out, prepare for quite a bit of foam appearing in the bowl, the first time you flush it.

You can get disinfectant blocks which hang over the edge, but make sure they don`t interfere with the float valve.

Cheers,
Just wanted to make sure breach was ok for the rubber, plastic and forgot to mention polystirene liner.
