Hi,

Our poorly insulated single block walled clubhouse suffers badly from condensation which appears to be caused by alternating between hot with lots of people and then cold and empty.

Is best solutiuon to have lots of ventilation after use?

What kind of club - one with showers and changing rooms?

Read up on here about condensation, then come back here with some more details of the clubhouse building construction and layout.

Clubhouse does not have showers and problem is in main reception room whch seats about 50. Problem is that wall are 4 inch thick solid concrete block with render on outside and plaster inside.

While i appreciate insulation will help its likely it will still be a problem due to the way in which the room is used

Any advice would be much appreciated.

People come in, generate moisture, heat (themsleves and any heating). Walls have high thermal mass and poor insulation / people leave, walls cool on internal surfaces = internal warm air with some moisture = condensation.

Insulation will help significantly, and possibly eliminate it.

But this is where you have to ask if insulation will be financially sane, most clubhouses I can think of are not used enough to justify the cost. Unless the building see's regular heating you will be looking at stupidly long payback times.

If insulation is not worthwhile, then more ventillation is the answer.
