concrete base

hi all.
i'm extending my garage and would like to know how thick my base should be. i've dug down between 10" & 11" from the existing garage floor and i'm on clay will this be deep enough or is it to deep.

a 150mm thick slab, plus 100mm compacted hard core stone, plus 25mm sand blinding and polythene, gives 275mm or 11".
