Concrete mould using laminated kitchen top?

Hi,

Looking at making a mould for a hearth.
Do you think using a laminated kitchen worktop offcut would be ok as a base or would the concrete stick firm and not be able to release it?

Line it with newspaper. If anything sticks you can soak it off.
 
I would think it'd be fine. concrete wont stick that well to the shiny side. Anyway, once the concrete starts to set up you can remove the mould before it all sets too hard if you are worried about it.
