Hi All,

Ive been advised by my builder to use concrete blocks fro my outer skin of my outbuilding and internal skin/partition walls with ashblocks/ashlite.... i cant find much information on these on the net...has anybody else come across these (or if there is a different term for them)?

Ive been told they have better thermal properties than concrete blocks.

Im not a fan of Thermalite blocks so i wont be considering these at all (from what ive read).

Clinker blocks.

Thermal performance difference is negligible, fixing into some of them is not.

Ok that makes sense...just had a look...so its basically Breeze Blocks!

Would you recommend sticking with concrete blocks?

Ive attached a plan of what im building :)

Are they still made? The Clinker and Breeze blocks were made from steelworks waste, the fly ash that makes concrete so hard comes from coal fired power stations, so would have thought these would no longer be available.
