depends on how you wan't to look at it
a new one is more efficient so in theory will save you money
the older ones tend to be more reliable but use a tad more oil
so you want to spend a bit more on oil and less on repairs
or pull out for a steamer and spend less on oil and more on repairs

Grant Vortex Oil Condensing Boiler is now as reliable as any non condensing Model so i would go for it and start saving fuel (apparently its running out you know!?)
