Hi I am trying to put up an antique chandelier that has 3 small bayonet bulbs. The old wiring has been replaced. When I connect the live and neutral to the ceiling rose, the light bulb flickers when I switch on. I have only tried one bulb. I have taken the chandelier apart and checked all the connections and they are secure. The light switch is a dimmer, although I don't see how that would affect things. When another pendant light is connected it works fine, so I don't think it can be the cables in the rose, which are also secure. Any suggestions?

try putting in all 3 bulbs, one small bulb may be too little for the dimmer.
