I recently signed an online petition, concerning the forth coming mandate concerning the MP's vote to allow a referendum to be discussed,
this was duly passed to my local MP, from whom I received via the House of Commons, the following reply......I note your comments, re the members vote with regards to our continuing membership of the EU, but unfortunately I will not be in the house on that day..

This to me seems like a total get out, has anyone else received the same reply?

It'll be a quiet day in the commons. You should demand he make his preferences known to you regardless of whether he will be there or not.

Joe, I rather suspect I already know the answer, MP'S are like solicitors, a closed group, they will do anything to protect each other.
The true reason why MP's don't want out of the EU is because it would spoil the gravy train for MP's becoming Euro MP's, it's all down to personal greed, not for the good of the country.

We must remember that the oft-quoted statement that MPs are there to represent our interests is a complete misconception. They are there to represent their own interests and nothing else.

If Camoron or Millband want them to vote against withdrawal from the EU, yet their constituent want the opposite, they're in a bit of a cleft stick.

It would be nice if all MPs were obliged to be present and vote openly on the matter. Then we'd all know where we stand.

If people DON'T vote for UKIP in the next general election, they'll have nobody to blame but themselves when they're paying £25 for their credit card and god knows what other bright ideas Brussels have dreamed up in the meantime.

Did you not watch Alan B Starde, When he explained the gravy boat? Much bigger and much slower than a train!
