hi,
I am finally replacing my cooker hooder and have hit a problem,
My old hood just plugged in to the mains 13 amp if i fit a new hood they run on 3 amp and need a circuit breaker fitted for the appliance to be fitted to,
Is it possible to just change the plug socket which is on top of the units over to a circuit breaker and attach the appliance to this,
i really dont know the best way any help much appreciated,
thanks,
stuart.

I do not understand why you need a circuit breaker. Put a plug on the cable from the hood and put a 3amp fuse in the plug.

Pop the plug into the socket, job done..

Next………..

If it is a single socket and you want to hard wire it you may replace it with a fused spur unit fitted with a 3A fuse, if it is a double socket then the plug idea is easier.

hi,
just looking at the manual again and it say's i need to fit it to a double pole switched fused spur outlet,
so do i still go with the plug with a 3amp fuse idea,
what is the easiest solution for me.
like i said i have a single socket on top of the cupboards,
many thanks,
stuart.

thanks for the swift reply,
theres only a blue and brown wire coming from the unit,
does it matter there no green/yellow?
last question i promise,
cheers stuart
