Hi,

Looking at installing LVT floor in the next month or two and planning to lay 9.5mm plywood flooring first.
I have multitool and circular saw but now looking to getting a jigsaw. Was not planning on spending too much but have been recommended a pendulum one. I currently have batteries tools for both Bosch blue and Dewalt so can go for either.

DeWalt DCS331N-XJ 18V XR Cordless Jigsaw £109

BOSCH GST 18V-LI 18V LI-ION COOLPACK CORDLESS JIGSAW - BARE £129

Which should I go for, open for other suggestions too.

Thanks

Having owned both brands, I'd say of the two go for the Bosch. Every DeWalt tool I've ever owned has fallen to bits very quickly, Bosch just keeps going.

Both sh1t. I have had both brands and they are rubbish. Trying Makita now mainly for price. Need to buy 5 or 8 amp batteries though the 3 amp that they come with don't last long between recharges. I suppose Milwaukee will be next but I have read bad reports about them.

I've just started moving to Milwaukee from Bosch, very impressed so far. OP asked for DeWalt vs Bosch though, I doubt they want to add a third manufacturer to their collection!

Hi thanks for your replies. And yeah rather not have a third set of batteries to use.

and it won’t get used massively, laying plywood floors as the main project and after that maybe just a few times a year for odd jobs.

I was originally going to buy a £30 one :cautious::LOL:

i have had the dewalt one linked to , as a DIYer, and it works well, on 3Ah Batts, used quite a lot for various projects, also used with a 5aH batt Metal Cutting, various sheet on Marine ply 12/18mm & 9/12/18mm MDF and various other stock timber
Still going OK after 2 years
Son-in-law has the body grip version https://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-d...rushless-cordless-body-grip-jigsaw-bare/211hg a lot nore expensive, but the control was very good, If i had to buy again I would go for the Body grip version
