My current Dewalt XRP DC925 has just given up and I have some renovation work coming up, so I'm looking for a new combi drill.
I've shortlisted the following with a £150 budget, the dewalt having 1.5ah batteries and the other with 3ah.

Makita BHP456RFWX

DeWalt XR DCD785C2SF-GB

Does anyone have any preference or experience in using any of these two?
I've heard that the dewalt suffers from play in chuck, not sure how true this is.

Cheers

I don't think you will go wrong with either of them. People seem to get quite tribal about the various brands and automatically promote the kit they use.

If I could try them out I could make an informed choice but without that, I would choose the Makita because of the bigger battery, because some of their kit is made in the UK and because I own some Makita kit already.
