Correct way to lay cables in cold roof?

What is the correct way to have cables running in a cold roof space that will not be boarded?

I will have 200m of wool insulation and need to wire up 10 downlights.

I know I can't have the cables clipped to the ceiling joists as they would then be buried in the insulation, but how can I do it without the cables then being in the way when it comes to laying the insulation?

It will make no difference for lighting.

The cable is hugely oversized for the Amperage.

200 mm would be more likely !!
