Hi,

We have just had a bodge job by an electrician trying to vent an extractor fan through drop eaves which is almost impossible. We have told him to we will get a price for a slate roof vent as we were not happy with the fan almost venting inside the loft.

Is there anyone that could offer me some advice, recommendation and a ball park figure on the cost of one of these things plus installation.

Many thanks in advance.

Who would have a clue unless they had seen the job! $100 quid if you supplied the vent maybe.

You will need......

Pitched multi slate.....................£35.

A length of black 110mm pipe...£15.

A length of flexi hose................£5.

Cradling or brackets.................£10.

Mushroom cowl and/or skirt......£10.

Other things to consider are spare tiles, angle grinder, a bit of roof batten, scaffold. uninterrupted access to the loft space would be good.

Someone competent may get the whole venting thing set up for you in say 3 hours. If your lucky £200. If you live in London in a three storey house and a gang come along then stick another nought on the end.
