Covid......... easy to protect yourself.

perhaps it means that masks are even more important, and distancing, and avoiding indoor crowds.

Was in my local hardware store earlier and was delighted to see no one wearing masks.
The scamdemic rolls on.

The counter guy has given up.
>titter<
And can't be enforced.

What about beer glasses, as alcohol supposedly kills the virus, does drinking beer give protection.
I have read that fumes from beer and spirits in a pub create a sort of barrier which stops the virus.

All cars have airbags for the front seats these days. So does that mean seatbelts are no longer important?

Mine has multiple airbags, in the dash, in the A frames, in the seat back - I can imagine me bouncing down the road surrounded by bags, should I ever have an accident, were it not for the SRS :-)

Simple soap and water is supposed to kill off the virus, it bursts their 'bubble' - so why all the antibacterial hand soaps sold and the squirty bottles you see everywhere now? All anyone needs to do is use soap and water regularly.

No nearby water source? and it's quicker.

Supposed to use it when out and about. I use it when I go shopping, before I get back into the car.

Lol, where did you read that? Sounds like ******s! The virus is spreading quite well in the hospitality sector apparently...

I gather that the means of transmission is now identified as inhalation of virus in water droplets in the air, resulting from breathing, talking, coughing or sneezing; and that touching doorknobs or money is a bit of a red herring.
I read last night that they *think* transmission by touching covid contaminated surfaces things amounts to about 10%. The rest is airborne. How the heck they can figure that out though..?

You're biased because you hate your local trouble spot.
Every hospitality venue I've been in has been safely run.
And, according to Dr Chris Smith this morning, closing hospitality was modeled as being worth only 0.1 to 0.2 off the R value.

Probably, but alcohol does kill viruses - which was why back in the day, beer drinking was much safer than drinking water.

beer drinking was much safer than drinking water.

I think heating the water, growing yeasts in it, and storing it in sealed containers may also have helped. Viruses can only propagate inside living cells.

A useful travellers' tip is to drink water from the hot tap in hotels, because it will have been heated, and stored at an elevated temperature, which pasteurises it.

No, although I hate my local, I don't hate pubs at all, and certainly not restaurants.
I did read though that the hospitality sector is one of the places where the virus is spreading a lot. It's not about a vendetta at all, but it does make sense. People together, indoors = spread. I don't think the 10pm closing will make much difference though -but yes, I am enjoying being able to have an early night! :-)

No probably about it. We are talking airborne booze fumes.. not drinking it! At the beginning here too there was another myth about people killing the virus by drinking booze - also untrue.
