We have a crack in one of the roof purlins of our 1901 mid terrace.

There is no bowing to the purlin and the crack doesn't appear deep, but it's about 80cm long and has been strapped previously.

The steel strapping, according to our buyers surveyor, is no longer adequate and it needs improving

Looking at the purlin, does anyone have any advice on what type if improvement work is required, and approximate costs?

Thanks
