I recently had my house re roofed using Brazilian slate.

Now after a month or so I can see lots of slates cracking at the corners (see photos). The roofer is highly experienced and regarded.

Is this likely to be the result of inferior slates, or is there another possible cause.

It would be helpful to have some opinions before I speak to the roofer.

Thanks

Andy

If they're highly experienced and regarded, I'm assuming you have some form of guarantee with them? Another way to approach it if you're seeking second opinions on here is to get them back out, ask them what's happening to the recently laid slates and what they can do to resolve. If you're not happy with their response and/or would still like that second opinion, you can then post what's been advised by them on here. Gives folk a bit more to go on as opposed to a single pic that doesn't tell much of the story.

I'm assuming this slate was used based on cost ?
Anyway , try to get better pictures .
I've come across issues with Brazilian mud slate in the past , they usually recommend hook fixing .
