Creating a flat roof

    There are ways of securing pots without having hand rails. Even grobags could be used?
    Personally I think a balcony/chill out area is unlikely to fly

    Getting access to a flat roof and safely looking after a few plants that soften the view is possible

    This is a fairly modern development across the road from me. Compare the house on the right with the one on the left. I honestly think the builders just forgot to fit the rail, I'm guessing whoever lives there keeps it locked:
