It just reminded me of our old cat, used to get down the floorboards whenever we had them up. Oh how many tins of tuna we had to feed it to get it out again!!!

Cats aren't stupid - it learned that if it went down there you'd feed it tuna.

I'd have nailed the little b***er in for 2-3 days, then let it out. It wouldn't have gone down there a 2nd time.

You've obviously never handled fibreglass loft insulation without gloves and a long-sleeved shirt.
