It's a bank holiday, and I was bored so I thought I'd change my cutout.

Remove the fuse and disconnect the tails

Open the bottom bit. This was a bit stubborn so had to warm it with a blow torch.

Remove the old fuse holder and neutral block. I covered the live with the end of a pyro shroud.

Break off most of the pitch and remove the insulators. Again I had to use the blowtorch to soften the pitch in the insulators.

Just need to swap positions of the line and neutral for the new cutout

Thought I had a cutout in the garage, but couldn't find it. Had to use an old fuse holder and an earth block for temporary.

Not forgetting the heat shrink and the means of ensuring that the papers don't unravel

You must be brave to attempt that !
Last one of them I had changed by Scottish Power the engineer sent for the digging team and cut the cable coming into the property, replaced it with a new length of split con and new Henley cutout.

You also failed to include details of the checks you must carry out prior to starting and upon completion

I assumed that RF had come across a board and cutout after a mains upgrade, re-location or demolition, and used his own meter, making the cable live and dead as required!

Looking at it though, I do wonder if his "RF" label on the meter is to simply conceal the meter serial number for traceability purposes!
