With the greatest respect, you are mistaken. I agree that regulars know perfectly well what you're on about (and are probably just a tad bored by your little joke, if truth were told) , but what is OP to make of your (to him) obscure reference to the advice of someone who has apparently not posted in his thread?

Which post would that be, then?

Thanks for the compliment - and for the laugh! My 'contemporaires'? Ils sont tous morts, sans doute. No, actually, you are all my contemporaries...I'm not really Emily Bronte (she died in 1848). I'm alive now and so are you (I assume?) Sorry to disappoint.

Or did you mean something else?

Something of an overreaction. The problem with giving people 'the right info' from your point of view is that it may not make much sense from theirs. Seeing things from the learner's perspective makes the difference between being able to teach them something useful and just thinking you have.

It's also pretty arrogant to dismiss everyone else's advice as 'waffle'. If I were to label much of what you write in the General Discussion Forum as the b*ll*cks I think it is, I'd probably be banned!

I am inclining to the view that there are a couple of forum members posting under more than one username. I expect joe90, dc dec and The Dec know exactly what I am talking about.

Correct. It was no secret. I even came on the forum and asked how to change it and explained why I wanted to. It was no big deal.

It is however against the spirit of a forum (as I understand it) for one individual to pretend they are several different ones by posting under more than one username at the same time. It's a form of dishonesty and I hope it's jumped on.

Well done, although it hardly makes you Hercule Poirot, or Brain of Britain!

Do keep thinking, though. It's a signs of life and that's always a bonus
