Daily Wail

Sky news is owned by Rupert, who's not the best for impartiality.. But as far as I know, it's not too bad as news outlets go. It's certainly no Fox news!

Wouldn't it be a novel idea if people happened to ignore the leanings and just paid attention to what was going on. These days you need a shovel to deal with all the biased crap.

In what way?
Look, if all news agencies are reporting the same thing (headline news) and the picture is roughly the same, then it is likely to be near to the truth.
The idiots are the ones who cant differentiate or cut through the bulls hit.
I thought Sky News were connected to Fox News Corp. They all have an axe to grind

I think Fox news is part of Murdoch family actually.

Yes, indeed, it would be great, better still a decent news outlet with absolutely no bias and just dealt the facts?!
I suppose one of the roles of the press is to look at stories at all angles and I guess the bias comes to play when only certain angles are shown, depending on the paper & who owns it. And there we bring the crap to wade through and figure out which one to take..

Best bet I find is to read a varied sample across the spectrum. Don't rely on one source or of course, ignore the whole lot :)

Yes it is, but as far as I know, Sky is better behaved. Perhaps because Fox is primarily in America where as Sky is primarily British? Could be something to do with our media laws in comparison to the USA.

I agree, it all gets a bit confusing and most people haven't the time or the inclination to get to the bottom of things. Even when they do, smoke screens and misinformation pour out constantly. We're all being played by some very clever devious people and always will be.

I am not sure you can blame a paper entirely for those of being of lynch mob mentality.. nor can you call everyone who voted out as being of a lynch mob mentality.
I never know tho if that people choice of material is because they are drawn to types that reflect their own views or if the paper changes views. Bit of both I guess.

Seems to me , since the result of the referendum, the only one's complaining are those that voted to remain.

did he say "entirely?"

everyone?

Encouraging an atmosphere of hatred is not unknown

People with that tendency like to read papers that make them feel "normal," and some of them seek out specialist websites and spread the propaganda.

Do you honestly think people have to read the daily mail just to find out the country is being over run by all the dross the eu sends us?

Dross? That's nice :(
I think there are more reasons why people voted Brexit that immigration.

I think you'd be hard pressed to believe and convince others most people would rather exit than remain in the EU now.

Do educated people actually buy it?

Or indeed ANY newspaper? Afterall, they're all just mouth pieces of the owner and editor - reporting (and not reporting) stories with any political slant they like. Stories is very often the operative word.

Nozzle.

These sort of posts do make me chuckle.

"I don't like that. It's crap. Only idiots like that. I don't like it." Oooh you must be weerly clevver den.

Well - Yes.

I haven't bought a newspaper for something like thirty years. I thought they had become rubbish then - or maybe it was me waking up.

I find it painful to watch the news on television now; it is so dumbed down and amateurish - and includes the ubiquitous pointless hand waving - how about Jeremy Vine's dancing when he is on the graphics.

There is a counter to Mitch's comment - but that would be rude.
