Hi, I have a small roofing company in the north west of the country
And have just brought a web site(other than the one I have)
That has it's listing in google a lot higher than mine.
This also came with a decorating site and a handyman site, I've been
Getting a lot of enquirys especially for the handyman site that up till
Now I've just turned away, I'm now thumbing to take on a handyman
And decorator to do this work, any idea what the going rate for either
Is in the manchester area is?
Any other ideas would be helpful
Cheers
Dave

Are you supplying van, tools, training, uniform, insurance etc. or do you expect them to already be pro's with all their own stuff?

I would say that's the lower end of the scale, but it all depends on skills, experience and speed and I guess it depends on your location. Also own transport w/insurances, maintenance, fuel etc. works out at more than £2/hr for me (£16/day at, say, 220 days/yr = £3.5k - not enough to own and run a decent vehicle imo).

I charge £12.00 an hour, and have a minimum charge of 3 hours.

I then have another minimum charge for emergency call-outs.

cumbria so at guess are about right then as you do your own adverts and admin other donkey work

"handymen" are not skilled but labourers with delusions of grandure. £7 ph paye is more than generous, £10 ph s.e/subby is about right.

Jack of all master of none, a handyman is a failed shelf stacker.

But your call out is £36.00,as you state.

Pardon for asking but what do you class as an emergency call out as a handyman?

every decorator i know and have come into contact with over the last 3 years should be earning max 5.82 p/h.

the fookers don't seem to understand that they are there to give the likes of me an extra hand and to take there own mind off there single craftmenship skill.

"i will be charging 5.00 l/m to fill any gaps chippy has left behind"!

genuine fooking response from one of 'em!
anyone know where we can get rid of this ugly **** and replace him with someone with abit more smartz?
