Denmark retirement age

^^ and slightly longer ago employers and employees didn’t have to make pension contributions at all.

Enrolment needs to be extended to the SE and be based on the previous years tax return or else a large number of people are going to have a terrible retirement

yep so with millions of people on say 400/500 quid a week (some on a lot less) they are going to contribute 20/25 quid a week with their employer contributing 12/15 quid a week so roughly around 2 grand a year going to take a helluva lot of years and a constantly growing good investment to give people a good pension in 30/40 years time .
Twas ever so, unfortunately.

My hope is to retire at 60 and plug the gap with savings & investments until in receipt of my state pension. If my sums don't quite work out, I might need to keep on going for another two or three years.

My plan is to do 2 or 3 days a week when I get to 60, but I might not, my Dad didn't....who knows.. enjoy life now I say :-)

Yes I took a week off work this week to get my garden finished off so that I can go on a tour on my bike, now she is already on about the next project. No rest for the wicked eh. Enjoy life today because tomorrow you could be dead.

That will just put up rents

Possibly. We seem to be in a real mess with housing and every option had downsides. Prices need to come down by at least a third, but that is politically impossible. There are much bigger problems in the country than illegal immigrants, but that is all most people seem to want to fixate on these days.
