Different coloured Silicone round bath and down corner walls ??

I did the white round the bath today with Unibond Triple Protection silicone. It’s supposed to be the best, but was quite “runny” to work with ‍

Again, it didn’t go as perfect as I wanted it to with a few ripples, lines, defects that I had to go over and over with the Fugi tool. The corners were a right pain in the ass !! In the end I had to go with the “if it’s 90% right, it’s time to stop faffing” rule and accept the few defects. Very frustrating for a perfectionist

Here are a few pics:

Looks ok.....from a distance !! :p . It's the same as all jobs.....you look with a very critical eye when you're in the middle of it and looking at it, but once it's done and you're not looking any more....it looks ok ;)

Thanks for the replies, advice and kind words :)

If I remember rightly, in the video you're talking about, he shows that silicone does indeed stick to silicone?

Silicone will stick to silicone but I have seen cases where you can peel the old silicone off the new silicone.

I haven't watched the video in question but I have seen shed loads of videos that are utter ******.

Silicone should not be applied over silicone once it has cured. FULL STOP

The likes of youtube can be great, but there are many, many people posting utter crud.

I'm using Everbuild 825 anthracite silicone for the shower seals......so to check silicone does / does not stick to silicone I ran out a bead of it, let it set, then ran another bead over the top and it definitely sticks !! Whether that lasts over time is another matter, but at least I know it works (y)

825 is a neutral cure silicone. It takes days to fully cure. A 3mm bead takes 6 days to fully cure, a 7mm bead takes 9 days (according to the product data sheet). I would be happy to apply another bead over the top within that period. That said, if you use washing up liquid to smooth it, it would be advisable to make sure that you have removed all traces of the washing up liquid before applying the second bead.

Thanks for the info
