Hi

Is it true that energy savings bulbs don't go with dimmer switches?

I am wondering whether it is worth cconverting the dimmer switch into a normal one - idea being to save energy convert to ES bulbs if the answer to above is Yes. So, can you pls advise if less electricity is consumed if the dimmer is at minimum ie to put it another way, is the same amount of electricity consumed whatever the light intensity the dimmer setting is?

Thanks.

yes you can not dim an energy saving lamp and energy aving lamps are available in all shapes and sizes in ES Or BC

(eddison screw / bayonet cap)

Megaman lamps manufacture a dimmable CFL, but it is dimmable by switching the power on and off rather than using a conventional dimmer switch.
