WHO'S ON THE DATABASE?
5.2% of UK population
Nearly 40% of black men
13% of Asian men
9% of white men
Source: Home Office and Census

Read into what you like. :?:

All this abour 'our' government, and 'this' government, what about future governments? What if the unthinkable happened and the BNP (or worse) got elected. Seems absurd tomorrow, or next year, but what in 10, 20, 30 years down the line? What if someone had access to the database and could clone your dna, in order to stitch you up? Again, in 10,20 or 30 years time you might be able to buy a 'home dna cloning kit' on eBay.
What if you commited a rape and left a pube at the scene of the crime that you'd found in a public toilet? Let some other sucker take the blame.

The very existence of a dna database would mean an even bigger workload for the police trying to unravel all the false leads that crims are sure to leave behind.

What if being on the dna database was compulsory. How would they get you onto it if you refused? Would the police come round to your house and pin you down in your hallway, while a man in a white coat plucks a hair from your head and puts it into resealable plastic bag.

"thank you for your time sir"

Anyone who thinks that this dangerous plan is a good one is living in cloud cuckoo land and probably reads the Daily Mail.

A ridiculous idea and a ridiculous waste of money, lets just build more prisons, schools and hospitals and be done with.

As long as you don't commit murder, rape someone or indeed carry out any criminal act, what do you have to worry about? I for one would have no hesitation in agreeing to my DNA being added to such a data base.
So as a 'supporter' of this database, have you volunteered your DNA yet?

I'll be first in the queue!

I don't think you'll need to queue.

That's the most sensible part of your post.

Off you go then...you can volunteer right now - no need to queue!

Toddle off to your local police station and inform them that as a potential future 'criminal' you wish to be treated as such - I'm sure they'll oblige...
