Do I need a lintel?

I've got a block shed. I'm looking to cut a hole in the side and put in 2.4m french doors. The wall that I'm cutting a hole in is built with thermalites. The roof is a flat ply with felt so I don't think walls are huge weight-bearing. Would a wooden lintel be suitable or any other suggestions? Would it need pillars as well?

Any help or suggestions appreciated
