Apologies if this question has been asked before, I looked but couldn't find an exact match (and I'm not so good on the precise terminology). I am trying to make cupboard doors & drawer fronts for an existing cabinet. The wood is currently plain oak planks and I would like to add some detail (beveled edges, grooves, etc). I believe I need a router to do a decent job although I understand they are not so easy to use. So my questions, should I bother? What are the basics I should look for when buying? What would be a reasonable amount to spend?
I don't expect instant results and am willing to practice. Thanks!
