Hi,
We are about to install the new bath, I would like to have the tiled panel around it with a little shelf, i.e. the frame should not end with the edge of the bath but about 8 cm further, so the bath would look like placed in a cradle...

My tiller is advising me against the shelf , the water will make it all crack, especially that acrylic bath moves a little even if filled with water when treated with silicone.

I heard about bath surrounds in hebel blocks, would that help the stability of the bath and prevent from cracking etc?

Can I build it directly on the wooden floor, or at least on the ply?

Thanks very much for advice, no one i got the quot from ever heard of the method.

MZ :p
