Do PIR Light Switches work?

Just looking at these

Wondered if anyone has installed one and if they actually work?

I've installed one and it works fine, although it does emit an audible buzz when the light is on.

The main switch doesn't feel that sturdy and is also a bit fiddly, so I personally wouldn't recommend fitting one anywhere where you're likely to need to keep flicking it on manually - mine is left on auto.

It's also quite bulky, so a standard 16mm back-box won't be deep enough.

IIRC, it's only a one-way switch so you'll only be able to use it in rooms or locations where you have only one light switch.

Make sure you also read the notes about the type of lights/bulbs that it's not suitable for.

I actually need to post a question about mine, but I'll start that on a separate thread.

Hi,
We got a hemispherical one from Screwfix and put it in the inner hall on the ceiling. It works well controlling 3 LEDs for night trips to the bathroom. 2 gang switch to it and a CFL (which was thought to be needed for cleaning etc - but the LEDs seem more than adequate).
