What I had in mind was a sort of 'humanities' forum where we could write and discuss stuff like poetry, song writing, guitar playing, painting and drawing, literature, theatre etc.

Are there enough multi-faceted personalities in here? Or are you all lacking when it comes to the finer arts?

We could talk about the Pre-Raph movement or Impressionism.

We could nominate a subject - such as homelessness, and each write a four verse poem about it. Then look at our observations and how we all varied in our thoughts.

We could write 'never ending poems' like the 'never ending story' thread where we all write a verse each.
We could post videos on stuff like guitar lessons. I worked out an easy way to play Stevie Wonders 'Superstition'. (but it is tricky). I also set up guitars and build them from bits off Ebay if anyone ever needs any help.

So do you have an artistic side? Or is arguing all you can do?

If you want a sub-forum creating - then add yourself to this thread with any ideas that you might have.

Its a great idea Joe......the question is would it work on here....
I am sure there is much more 'substance' to people on here than they sometimes reveal, but would they be prepared to show it.....I really don't know.....but good for you for suggesting it Joe :)

I think there's only be you and me in it, so it looks like it's a non-starter.

Thats ok two is a start only two of us play the word game most days and that is fine :)

You've just edited your first comment so I take it I haven't pulled then.

Here's a start wot I wrote.

"Who painted that windswept sky?
Who's dry brush raked the clouds of grey?
The winter chill through reeds now brown
The lemon winter sun goes down."

who brushed the smooth soft snow,
and lit the landscapewith its glow,
like cotton wool it floats and drifts,
leaving beauty in our midst.

chaperone not needed....but thanks for the offer :)

Beneath that icy blanket white,
The winter chill doth lose its bite.
The rabbits in their warren warm
Await the spring and day's new dawn.

from its rising,to the setting sun,
another glorious day is done,
we raise a glass and give a cheer,
for all thats good, that we hold dear

our first four verses done Joe :)

Yes it's a good start -

but who will join us in our quest?
To grace the page with words, unless
'Tis you and I, a tryst we'll form
and verse we'll write from dusk till dawn.

'Tis a silly idea, for us men,
to write poetry, but then
perhaps I do just joke.
Oh no, I'll never write poetry to another bloke!
