No, I'm not referring to painting a picture/scene ;)

I'm currently painting one of my BTLs. It's not an overly large apartment however every paintable surface needs done, and the walls will definitely need two coats maybe even three in places.

Although I always endeavor to do a good job with my DIY tasks and I enjoy many of them, painting definitely isn't something I enjoy. I know that some find it quite therapeutic. I won't hash/rush it, not in my nature, but jeez do I find it boring!

Do you enjoy painting, if yes why, if no why?

I've got better and more methodical over the years at painting; in the past I used to get more paint on myself and the dog than on the walls. It is good, as Aveatry says, to listen to music (or documentaries) whilst you are painting, it passes the time nicely.

What about all this new water-based paint? Has it got any better? And isn't paint expensive now?

I found water based gloss awful a few years ago but much better more recently. The brush marks shrink out a lot better than they once did. I think a softer, finer brush helps lots.

Plus you don't get a banging headache, brushes clean easily and it doesn't turn yellow.

Yeah I've been noticing that with the gloss. Although I still try to vent the space, definitely not the odor there used to be.

And I've had the challenge in this place of doing white on white :(
