Guys - hoping someone can provide some advice on an issue spotted whilst completing a garage conversion.

3 years ago a previous builder cut a door space into an internal wall. At the time, i had no reason to question it.
I recently contracted another builder to complete the work - he mentioned that the door space has been cut adjacent to an existing UB and that the concrete lintel (p100 1050 lintel) may not be sufficient.

Up until this point there had been no wall cracking so i asked him to press on. Although I'm now regretting that decision.

IMG_3497 just about shows the issue - unfortunately I do not have a better image pre board.
IMG_3812 shows the issue, this is however post board.
IMG_3809 shows the underside of the concrete lintel - not sure if there is cracking.

Note: UB was originally installed 1991. The original builder did not consult an SE when cutting a door into the internal wall (3 years ago).
UB - open span is 2.4 metres. not sure is the beam is sitting on both courses of brick or just one course. It's supporting a first floor wall, house roof and pitched roof.

Totally understand this might cost me money to fix. Prior to contacting SE to evaluate / asking builder to carry out remedial work.
Just thought I'd post here first to see if anyone had any thoughts, experiences or recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

James

It's fine.

Imagine the situation if that bit of wall above the doorway was not there and the beam was on the end of a wall. The load is vertical.
