Dot and dab and electric cables

Hi all,

On a block wall that is about to be dot and dabbed. There is cables on the block running to where a socket etc will go. whats the proceedure? Do i fit the back boxes first then D&D or do i D&D and then cut out for the boxes?

first, fit the back boxes
next, offer the board up into place. give the board a light tap with a block of wood and a hammer local to where the back box is situated. this should leave an imprint of the back box position on the board.

either cut it out with a stanley knife or a jigsaw.

next, apply the adhesive and dab into place.
