Hello

I have a double socket on one wall and need one on the other wall directly on the opposite side. The socket only has one set of wires going to it.

At the moment it is a double socket with an extension in each 1 extension powering my tv equipment and the other 4 way powering my fridge (on the other side if the wall)

Is it possible to run another socket from this one?

Thanks.

what room is this? are there no other sockets in that room, or on the other side of the wall you wish to have a socket on?

On one side is my living room and the other side is the kitchen but there is no sockets on that side.

Con1, with jobs like this access is everything. It is impossible to answer your question without actually seeing the job and it may need a certain amount of further investigation.

I think your best bet is to call in an electrician or three.

A diagram is unlikely to be of much help really. The existing socket you refer to may already be breaching the regs - one set of cables means it's the end of a radial or a spur... but from where? What type and size of cable is it? On what protective device? Without being able to test this socket you can't really advise whether or not it can be used.

Also, insufficient socket provision may be the least of your worries. The fact that you're asking the question indicates a certain lack of understanding. A man on the spot could advise you of all the implications. Why not ask three local sparks to quote for the work and see what they say?
