Draining Water Heater Problems

I have a GE SMart Water Heater, 40 gallon. I've had limited hotwater in showers for a few months. Decided to drain the water heater. My problem is that I can't get it to drain. I'm shutting off the power, turning off the cold water intake, releasing teh pressure valve, and hooking up a hose to what I think is the drain valve.

My Drain Valve is unusual. PICTURE INCLUDED.



When I attach the hose, I just turn and turn and turn this white thingie 100x with no water coming out. Am I doing something wrong?[/img]

that doesnt look like a drain off to me? it looks like an overflow connector

can u post a pic of the whole thing?
