I want to install smarter heating; currently have just a wireless roomstat (pictured) which we move around the house, and regular 'dumb' TRVs, so we're often heating unused areas. I'm deciding between Wiser & TP-Link Kasa after much research. Kasa is much cheaper, but as I understand doesn't link to the actual boiler, so heating is controlled solely by the Kasa TRVs? So with Kasa I'd need their TRVs on every radiator unless I wanted those rads on all the time?
Whereas it looks like with a wiser thermostat in the living room, I could get away with just having one Wiser TRV in each area that is usually heated together, so reduces the cost? (i.e. lounge/kitchen, landing/bedroom)?
(I wfh during the day & already know that manually turning off the TRVs in the unused rooms just leads to a freezing bedroom when I've forgotten to turn them back on in the evening, hence needing the smart solution!). Want it to be app-controlled from a phone, which both options are. Please no recommending Tado, I don't want my heating dependent on a subscription & I'm not techy enough to circumvent Tado's like some seem to manage. Thanks in advance all.
