Drilling Help Needed!

I have exactly this drill and it's an absolute last resort as I'm a weakling and it weighs a tonne.
I only ever used it on roto stop mode as I use it as a poor man's breaker.

You must be less of a weakling than me I have a 5kg SDS. It's never used.

I drilled hundreds of holes for my father when he batton and hardboard dry lined our stone cottage in the 1950’s the plugs were either dowells, a brown shiney plug with small hole in the centre or, packed with an asbestos fibre which was wet with water .
I found the drill and a good selection of bits when I cleared his house after he passed away in 2014

Yes that's them. I tried googling for every potential descriptive word except Rawl drill.:mad:

Hello all!

In the end I went with Footprints' suggestion and bought one of these:

That and a £3.99 pack of DeWalt masonry bits and I had the hole drilled in seconds! Mirror is hung and hasn't crashed down and decapitated me, the husband or the cat, at least not yet. Really pleased. I have loads of other stuff to hang, so will be easy with my new toys.

Ta so much for the advice. I am sure I will be back with more beginner questions.
