Drilling through cables

A few years back I was working for a small IT firm. We was to extend a cat5 network in a small theatre company who had recently started to house budding young actors on the premises. The guy I was working with was too lazy or too stupid to move a bunkbed in the living quarters away from the corner, to allow the cable to run down the corner in trunking. I walked into the room he was in and couldnt believe he was holding the mattress back and drilling a hole through the bed for the cable to pass through. I just stood there in disbelief for a few seconds. Then had to seriously take the pish.

Had one where the 2 way light would only switch off in one configuration. Joiner had used 6in screws through a 3in batten, impaling the strapper shorting the brown and black together.
The cable was in a safe zone too - vertical run from a switch in a partition up to the attic.

Something like that. I can't remember exactly, it was many years ago.

All I remember is her trying to blag it for nowt and me being annoyed because she just would not own up to having messed with the wiring.
