When drilling the hole for an outside tap going out behind the kitchen sink cupboard. Do most people drill a hole through the back of the cupboard then drill from inside to out. Though this could blow the face of the stone on the outside. Or drill from outside in?

I normally drill a pilot hole from the inside to out then drill the main hole from the outside to in.

Thanks does the same pilot hole not usually blow the face of the stone too much?

If you drill from the inside, you can accurately position where the new pipe needs to be.....indeed where the pipe connections will dictate.
There will be some blow outside but use pilot drill (maybe 10mm) before going for an 18mm hole for clearance.
It's probably a good idea to wrap the pipe with protecting tape before sealing everything up.

Thank God for warm weather! Loadsa folk want outside taps installing. Drill back of base unit back board with circular wood bit.... don't push too hard...just go thru and inspect for anything that you don't really want to driil thru, Mark with tape 18" masonry bit at about 12" + cavity between back of wall unit and internal masonry. Go thru on hammer till ur about 2" away from outside masonry/brickwork... knock off hamme action... or just don't press on too hard... even with a 8/10mm pilot you shouldn't blow off too much of external skin. Drill back on 18mm from outside bobs ur uncle!

check valve////back syphonage///mucky warm water going thru to cold water at sink!???
Get a tap with a check valve or ensure that hose attacment has a check valve.

Fit a sleeve as well so copper pipe can go through sleeve in case copper burst in middle of wall during winter and sleeve will stop it leaking inside cavity wall and instead coming out of either wall where you can see.

Not permitted for new installation. You are only allowed to use these taps when replacing old tap where no check valve was installed in supply to tap.
