Dry verge

Looking for some advice on recent change to dry verge from wet verge.

Roofer took mortar out to install but not the undercloak.

There is a gap between the verge and brickwork, when I queried this, he said the quote wasn’t to take the undercloak out (I wouldn’t even know this was a thing) and assured me the gap is fine because the undercloak is there?

He’s coming back to put a ridge cap on but not sure if we need this or not?

We don’t have any caps at the end and he said he will put some on.

Worried it’s not quite right?

Not technically needed if the dry verge is properly fitted, sometimes the old mortar cloak is left in, yours has been removed

I'm always sceptical of retro-fitted dry verge, especially if it's just done of ladders.
