I have a 6-zone wired DSC Power832 system (no annual maintenance contract since 2004). I had an extra room built this year at ground level and want a sensor installed in it. However I'm having trouble sourcing one & also an installer to agree that they can fit it.

The original installer, Castle Security (Edinburgh, 1998) won't do anything without setting up a £100 a year maintenance contract and would need the engineering codes from the last maintainer. A*T had the maint contract last and say they don't have the engineering codes, all you need is the user's alarm master code (which I have a note of).

Another local firm said there's only a handful of registered installers for this system, CFSS in Cardiff being a distributor of hardware. Does anyone know if the Power832 does just have the one master code? I don't want a maintenance contract, just an extra sensor & someone to fit it as a one-off job.

Having had a quick look at an installation manual I found online.

the panel has 8 zones (I suspect you are using 6) from what you have said and can be expanded upto 32 either hard wired or wireless.

They can take standard normally closed detectors or those that use resistors the resistor values being 5K6.

The is a system master, then other master and user codes.

If you open a pir they may have a reference inside to what they are, or you can post a picture to see if anyone can tell which pir's you are using now, so you can find a cosmetic match.
