When you look at some items on ebay, there are often several options - dropdowns, where you choose the size/colour etc.. Having made your choice, and paid, you have absolutely no confirmation of what size/colour you might have ordered, so the seller could send you anything which meets the price, plus you have no means of checking... As you have no confirmation of what you actually ordered, difficult to dispute.

Earlier in the week, needing a 0.22Ohm 2w, I ordered some 0.9 Ohm 1/4w resistors, intending to use 4x in parallel, to match my wanted value. When they arrived, I'm struggling to confirm their values, due to the colour bands not be distinct. I cannot easily confirm the values by measuring, either, being sub-ohm.

It should do

I ordered some rubber strip last week with drop down options for width and length

When I checked my purchase history the item comes up as “2mm thick x 5m long: 20mm wide”

I wonder if the seller in your hadn’t set up the listing correctly

I regularly buy from ebay and details of individual items are always shown on the purchase summary within the ebay account.

Yep, found it now - If you click on top right >My Ebay>Purchase History then click on the item, it shows the chosen option you actually ordered. I thought they might have included the detail, in the email confirmations..
