Hi

Can someone tell me what the plates are called that have a single wire coming from them to say a heater? similar to a blanking plate just with a hole for the wire? cheers

YES THANKS BOTH FOR THAT, THE ONE ON THE LEFT LOOKS ABOUT RIGHT BUT WHAT IS IT CALLED??

Usually, unless the heater is for example in a bathroom or whatever, and the local isolator is outside the room etc.

If the isolator was outside the bathroom would it not be better to just have a cable direct to the appliance ? and skip the outlet plate .
Im not a spark by the way. I just like learning.

so just drill a hole through the wall?

rough git..

use a flex outlet plate but don't cut the lead down, pass it through to the FCU..

But surely there is a hole through the wall anyway.
But then again i suppose there is many reasons to use one. Like if the cable was fixed to appliance in a way not to able to remove.

Cheers
clicking the pics a bit technical.
I'm getting these for an electrician that is working in my house. I need 4 two for heaters in the living and bedroom ( sounds like fused spurs might be better?) a towel heater and a fan heater. which will require Outlet Plates I think as there in the bathroom?
Thanks for the help

get the middle one, the one with the hole in the middle looks tacky..
the other 2 have the hole in the bottom..

Why are you getting them for him? Surely his wholesaler will give him a better discount than you could ever achieve?

And not only that, he will know if they need to be FCUs or not, and whether they could go inside the bathroom.

amwc - just leave it all up to him to supply what he needs.

I'm the electrician that works in my house.

As I don't work in anyone else's house, I have to buy fittings for me.
